Incoherent bits on the Obama inauguration

The CNN video refuses to embed D:

Watching the parade live: Michelle Obama is so cute, all smiley and peppy and dance-y to Signed Sealed Delievered even after so long. And CNN was trying to prod the CNN Live/Facebook users to comment more by highlighting them.

I was completely distracted for a good while by the photographs of Rahm Emanuel being caught making silly faces this morning.

Barack, Michelle, Joey B were bored bored bored, then the Chinese dragons and lions came out and woke them up for the next band :]

Wow. 1,200 VMI? I like their marching music.

OOH, NASA!Craft is last! Wait, where's the astronaut with the flag going?! Oh, Right, I guess the craft's not going the whole 1.7 miles.

I like how Obama and Biden's always Red and Blue. Not the first time they planned it. It's also not just me who thinks this presidency has very pretty and entertaining people in it. It's better than the actual entertainment world!

ALSO.
I really want an .mp3 rip of this video. The ones I've been finding/hearing is missing the beginning piano bits.

Life Upgrades

To much of the general population's (pop.: 1) disappointment, there is an absolute lack of upgrades on this life at this moment. Still jobless, work-less, hopeless (at oChem), and feeling semi worthless. All in a day's work.

Summer classes have been set: Intro to Psychobiology and Neurobiology for Summer Session I and nothing for SSII. I shall look into ceramics, crafts, traveling, LABWRK (!!!!!), and etc for said latter half of summer.

In entertainment news: after my period with classical music, first with Beethoven/William Kempf then with George Winston, I began to devote much time to Barrowman (the lack of shame and all), which now lead to flirting with Cole Porter, swing, musicals. Oh, and I'm being rapidly charmed by Kevin Kline.

And I hold firm in my opinions regarding Barrowman—he is great for the entertainment factor (because he is reasonably skilled and has no shame) but still looks funny. I think it's his mouth and chin.

In other entertainment news: Elijah Wood and the return of David Tennant on The Friday Night Project. Watching FNP on the internet means there are no commercials, but more often than not I find myself taking more than designated commercial breaks all the same. They tend to get rather overwhelming. The Elijah Wood epidsode has been pretty good so far, but not nearing the humor of the Tennant ones. Probably because Wood still gives off an air of...greenness. Neither shameless (JB) nor wittily dignified(?) (DT) enough to make the show show interesting. I'm so horrible.

13 February 2008

I am ridiculous. Thinking that the place I should write it down here, get it out, something, is more of a ridiculous notion. Writing detaches me from my issues, and I really think I've had enough of detachment and avoiding the fucking problem (whatever it is). Logic has told me my own ruined state and that I am really being stupid and so cowardly over everything, thank you. More filing things (feelings) away is not going to quite enough anymore.

I hate having to hold up and be a fucking adult. So much, so much, because I am not one. I don't feel like one, don't want to be one. I just want to be five again. I don't want to stare myself and see every. thing. that went wrong, that I messed up, that I must carry the burden of, that I ran away from, that I cheated out of.

Yet, having lived two decades (a fact that cannot be reversed), I would hate to be helpless and be unwillingly dependent.

I thought I was fine. I thought I have gotten over things, forgotten and filed away. I though I wasn't so deeply entrenched then. After all, calling things off was easy. So easy. It was the best thing to be done for all. I still stand by my decision then, but the poison dug and burrowed deeper than I expected.

And it so casually prods and tugs on designated days.

Impulsive drowning and projecting, I know, is not the cure. But it helps. Oh it helps so much.

恋や思う存分からの幸せの貪欲は溢れているよ。

Another Side. John Barrowman.

I am so fucking pathetic.

Scientific Illustration

The BIS1b TA, Fran, said something about UCSC having a masters program on scientific illustration, how she has some contacts for people who are interested in trying, and something about how they are short on people in this field. Then she sent us all links to that program. I knew it's out of my league (I FAIL in detail work), but hey, why not see what it's about?

And the first thought upon seeing the website is: "holy crap, I can't do that. Ever."
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program is limited to 15 students and is by application only. The application deadline for Fall 2008 is March 15. Applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree, preferably in a science, and must be able to demonstrate a strong background in representational drawing, as well as a developed sense of aesthetics. Other degrees are eligible if the portfolio exhibits keen observational skills and if the applicant can demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of science.
LoL, seriously, who am I kidding. No way I can reach an acceptable level in two years, haha. And I haven't even taken initiatives in trying to get into a research lab. ¬_¬;;;;

Damn that sudden urge to do life drawings. Now. Immediately. (who cares about physics, anyhow?)

(BTW, what I'm listening to is the coolest remix of FFVII's Cosmos Canyon. Voices from the Lifestream is a really well done Compilation of Final Fantasy VII fan remix album)

Music: The Flight of [eight] Bumblebee[s], Ah ! vous dirai-je, Maman, and etc.

I blame Nodame Cantabile for this sort of classical fascination ♥

In other news, the fourth Doctor Who series? :D
I recently re-read Maya's commentaries on the GoF movie and I think the "dark, intense, leather-clad man" bits are now forever burned into my brain. LMAO.

Maxium the Hormone

マキシマム.ザ.ホルモン did the second opening of Death Note. While it's...a little grating on the ears, its fitting in a psychedelic way, LoL. Anyway, I somehow ended up with their album and, out of curiosity, looked them up on wikipedia, which then linked me to their website.

On their about the members page are the following brief introductions on rollover:
Ue-chan (bass)
Nawo (drums and female vocal and big sister)
Maximum-the-Ryo-kun (vocal and guitar and little brother)
and
Daisuke-han (キャーキャーうるさい方), which translates to "the noisy/annoying one who goes Kya kya)

lmao.

Those guys are so weird.

Eurovision 2007

Is Awesome. With a capital A. Out of the 42 tracks, some were general pop, rock, europop, etc. A couple had what seems like to be cultural elements. But most of them are lovely, with a large variety. Most are in English, with their country's language or not. Just, kyaa. Yeah, kyaa.

(is not descriptive at all)

CDs & Resized T-shrits

Not a month since this 'higher education' thing started and I've already got two, no, three new CDs. Bernice doesn't usually buy CDs. Free noon concerts are to be blamed. Last Tuesday was "folk guitarist" Joe Hickerson and today was guitarist Brandon Yip. Hmm...and in between scavenged Japan for Sale from the library.

The first two CDs doesn't do the music justice compared to the concert. Especially the Hickerson one, where the audience participates by singing the chorus. Sounded better than the CD version, I daresay. But it might've just been the acoustics though. Yip's is not as good in CD, either. =\ I guess now I know why people go to concerts. Oh, I just noticed another reason. The CD I got was recorded 10 years ago. His skills probably improved during the years.

We got back from the noon concert (Psych midterm was just before that) and I noticed how my t-shirt seemed larger than before. I washed/dried this particular shirt in our dorm's laundry. Amy then commented that her robotics shirt seemed smalled than before. We questioned the strangeness of the dryer. (Dietary, exercise, and habitual changes probably played a factor, too)

Speaking of food, I'm eating much less healthily now. My nails have become more brittle than it used to be...which makes me rather unhappy because I am (was) proud of my nails-that-don't-break. Gah.

I should go study for tomorrow's Calculus for BioSci and Med midterm. Bright and early at 08:00. (dies)
